Recently, there has been a lot of discussion of net-zero targets, which essentially entail getting to zero emissions by 2050. In this thought piece in the Economic Times, I argue that getting to net-zero is not only technically feasible (e.g., using energy efficiency, renewable electricity, battery storage, green hydrogen, bioenergy, and carbon capture) but also economically viable (e.g., at less than 1% of global GDP), provided policymakers act decisively now.
