Stats: Climate-related investments grow over the past 3 years

Excellent overview by McKinsey of ESG and climate-related private markets investments between 2019 and 2022. According to the newly released report, ESG-related private markets investments (VC and PE) tripled from $90B to $270B during this 3-year period. Investments in climate-oriented solutions grew across the board, with newly emerging sectors such as hydrogen and carbon management growing by a mind-boggling 460% and 1400% respectively. The incredible growth in carbon management solutions funding in particular, where startups such as Iconic Air operate is very encouraging and highly indicative of the growing pressure on the corporate sector to measure, manage, and reduce its carbon emissions.
