EFRAG published an initial assessment of ESRS implementation in selected companies. Main findings in image below. Good that firms recognise the value of an evidence-based double materiality approach. Gaps are where expected: value chain mapping is often too simplified and datapoints not complete enough.

The study only shows preliminary insights; it was focused on a few large companies across various sectors that had high levels of sustainability maturity and resources (n=28). As more companies come into CSRD scope, firms with fewer resources and less maturity are likely to experience the observed challenges in more intense ways.
